Deadly Killer Diseases IPD For Toddlers
Although it has been given the appropriate antibiotics, the disease Invasive Pneumococcal Disease (IPD) or disease caused by the bacterium streptococcus pneumoniae (pneumococcus), is still the number two killer in Indonesia after the diarrhea.
"IPD disease caused high mortality rates, by 15-20 percent. Tallest IPD cases occurred in children under 2 years old," said Kusnandi Rusmil, Chairman of the Coordination Unit of Work in the field of Growth IDAI seminar Prevent Dangerous Diseases: IPD and Diarrhea Rotavirus in Children, held in Bandung on Saturday (07/16/2011).
