Smokers Exposed to High Risk of Lung Cancer



The lungs were the only human organs that are directly related to air quality. Those who live in polluted environment and passive smoking, lung cancer risk. While active smokers are at risk even higher.



"The highest risk for lung cancer is smoking," said Elisna Syahruddin, lung and respiratory specialist physicians, in Jakarta, Wednesday (1/5). "The cause (lung cancer) we have not known and treatment is also limited.

Elisna added, lung cancer symptoms include cough without or with blood, shortness of breath, chest pain, and weight loss. Of all cancers, the number of cases of lung cancer ranks the highest for men. The lowest lung cancer cure rates compared with other types of cancers.
