Do not ever underestimate the visual effects of the psychology of healthy foods in order to help someone lead a healthy lifestyle. The results, published a brief report Journal of Psychology and Health says the visualization of healthy foods like fruit can improve one's desire for healthy living.
"How old is like telling people to change the diet is not effective," says Bärbel Knauper, a professor of psychology at McGill University in Montreal, as reported from HealthDay, Monday (7 / 3).
He explained that the research shows if someone has made a concrete plan about what to do, it's better to act on that intention is "What we do is merely add visualization techniques to assist their efforts to live a healthy life style," he explained.
Previously, studies conducted Knauper and colleagues recruited 177 students. By Knauper, students were asked to consume a lot of fruit.
They are required also to imagine how they will implement their plans, such as when, where and how they will buy, prepare and consume the fruit. As a result, those who plan to increase consumption of fruit two times more than those who do not plan or visualize.
"Athletes do a lot of mental effort to train their appearance before competing. As a result they successfully undergo their game. So we thought to have as an athlete mentally powerful enough to be applied in the business healthy lifestyle," he concluded.
