Turmeric May Help Repair Brain estimated

Turmeric spice commonly used for seasoning mix curry or yellow rice, may help the brain to repair itself, according to a report published in the journal Stem Cell Research and Therapy.

Studies conducted in Germany is mentioned, a substance present in turmeric or turmeric can encourage the growth of nerve cells, which is thought to be a part of the brain repair.

Scientists said the study, which is based on research using mice, may be paving the way for drugs for stroke and Alzheimer's disease in the future.

However, according to them, many trials still need to be required to determine whether this is true in humans.

The researchers from the Institute of Neuroscience and Medicine in Julich, Germany, the BBC reported recently, studying the effects of aromatic-turmerone or substances found in turmeric.

Rats injected with this substance and then scanned their brains. Certain parts of the brain, which is known to be involved in nerve cell growth, look more active after-turmerone aromatic entered.

Researchers say, these substances encourage a proliferation of brain cells.

In a different experiment, the researchers bathed nerve cells rodents in different concentrations of extracts containing aromatic-tumerone.

Nerve cells have the ability to turn into different types of brain cells and the scientists stated these cells have a role to make improvements if the brain is damaged or diseased.

Dr. Maria Adele Rueger, which became part of the research team, said, "In humans and animals more developed their skills do not seem adequate to fix the brain, but the fish and smaller animals seems to work fine.
