Video Games for Children Reading Ability Damaged

The researchers warned that computer games destroy children's reading skills. Based on the Daily Mail, researchers found the reading skills of children ages 9 and 10 years of decline in a country with which the household has at least one computer.

The team from the University Gotheburg in Sweden compared the reading skills of students aged 9 and 10 years in Sweden, the United States, Italy and Hungary. They found that since 1991 average reading ability declined in the U.S. and Sweden, but increased in Italy and Hungary.
The children in the U.S. and Sweden also borrow fewer books from the library and spend their little spare time to read. The researchers found that the ability of boys slightly more decline than women, possibly because they tend to spend more time playing video games.
"The ability to read down because of the use of computers in his spare time to increase," said Professor Monica Rosen, head of research, on Monday (30 / 5). Important if we do not jump to conclusions that a full explanation of the lack of reading is a deficiency in education.
In contrast, the ways in which damaging computer literacy clearly show that free time at least as important when it comes time to develop the ability to read high-quality .
