Herb industry in Indonesia is currently developing research to exploit the potential of herbs in troubleshooting or degenerative diseases of aging.

According to Chairman of the Association of Herbal and Traditional Medicine, Charles Saerang, one study of medicinal plants are being developed utilizing a combination of ginger and bitter as the anti-aging.

The combination of these two types of plants, says Charles, is believed to have health benefits primarily as an antioxidant. "The combination of ginger can inhibit the bitter with aging so that people look younger. That we have learned from a few hundred people who consume, in fact feel more refreshed. And to motivate the work is increasing," Charles said when met at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia, Jakarta, Saturday (11/06/2011).

Charles added, the use of bitter in antioxidant formulas can not stand alone. Because, this plant has a bitter taste great, and it is thought to cause damage to the liver.

That's what makes bitter must be combined with ginger. Although in some studies in Thailand, said Charles, bitter believed to have healing benefits of stomach cancer because of the sense of bitterness.

Wild Ginger's most widely used
Charles explained, ginger today is one type of plant that is used as the basis for the manufacture of herbal medicine, and most widely used medicinal plants in Indonesia.

"So, whatever herb is also used in herbal ginger if baseball will not be effective. Temulawak this as a plant that also accommodates all other plants," he said.

From ancient times, continued Charles, ginger indeed been trusted as an herbal remedy that has many benefits, including a sleep so soundly, increased appetite, and facilitate defecation.
