Tim McAfee, director of the Office on Smoking at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say smoking as the number one cause of death in America. "It has been noted long ago that everyone knows smoking is not good for you," he told the New York Times.
But what made him surprised to read an article in The New England Journal of Medicine study analyzed data from 113 752 women and 88 496 men who were interviewed between 1997 and 2004 for the United Stated National Health Interview Survey.
