Vitamin C Proven to Prevent Blood Vessel Blockage

Blessed dieters who like eating fruits and vegetables yellow and orange are loaded in vitamin C.
Vitamin C is not only useful as an antioxidant agent, you know. A small study done by researchers in the United States recently found that vitamin C supplementation may be a new strategy for reducing the risk of deep vein thrombosis is common in the obese and overweight.
This study was conducted on 35 obese adults to see the comparison of the effects of vitamin C and exercise on the protein endothelin-1 in the body.
The activity of the protein endothelin-1 is increased in people who are overweight and obese, because the levels of endothelin-1 becomes high, the small blood vessels become more prone to constrict.
As a result, the blood vessels become less responsive to demand blood flow and increases the risk of cardiovascular disease.
Results from this study were presented by oara researchers involved in the 14th International Conference of the American Physiological Society on Endothelin, in the city of Savannah, GA.
The researchers found that exercise has been shown to reduce the activity of endothelin-1, but if done regularly every day.
Caitlin Dow, Ph.D., of the University of Colorado, who led the study also tested whether vitamin C supplements, which have been reported to increase blood vessel function, also can reduce the activity of endothelin-1.
The researchers found that a daily supplement of vitamin C at a dose of 500 mg daily release was able to reduce the restriction of endothelin-1 as the effects of exercise.
Of the 35 volunteers, 20 of whom are required intake of 500mg of vitamin C and 15 participants were asked routine aerobic exercise for three months.
