Study: Good Cold Tea to Lose Weight

Lose weight with regular tea drinking has often been revealed in a series of studies. Recent research highlights another point about the fact, which is to pay attention to the temperature of tea drunk.

The study was conducted by a team of researchers from the University of Friborg in Switzerland. They compared the properties of hot and cold tea in an experiment involving 23 participants from young adults.

On certain days, the unsweetened tea is served cold at three degrees Celsius. On other days, the participants were asked to drink hot tea served at 55 degrees Celsius.

Their body condition was measured 90 minutes after drinking each tea. A series of things to be measured include blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen level, and fat oxidation rate.

The data is compared with the initial condition of the body that has been measured half an hour before drinking tea. The result, drinking cold tea increases energy twice as much as drinking hot tea.

Cold tea also increases fat oxidation and reduces metabolic stress on the heart. All the accumulated good benefits help to lose weight more effectively.

However, the type of tea in the study is a caffeine-rich mate tea. Tea drinks traditionally served in water pumpkins are often consumed by the natives of Guarani in South America and popular in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Brazil, as quoted from the Mirror page.
