The Importance of Meet the Needs of Salt in the Body

Not only to maintain the needs of drinking water, meet the needs of salt for people who often do outdoor activities and sports regularly was also quite important. Unconsciously, not only the water content, the level of salt content in the body can also be drastically reduced during outdoor activities and after exercise.

The salt usually comes out through sweat. The electrolyte content, found in salt, is considered important enough to regulate cardiovascular function and a number of other neurological functions, including fluid balance and oxygen distribution to the lungs and throughout the body.

Ideally, people who move outdoors or do sports are expected to drink water every 15 to 20 minutes. If the exercise is classified as heavy exercise, then water containing salt or energy drinks can provide greater benefits than ordinary water.

The National Heart Lung and Blood Association, a Maryland-based health and heart health agency, says one person needs at least 500 mg of sodium daily. This amount is considered sufficient to optimize the functions of organs, which require sodium intake.

Not only that, as reported by the Times of India, Monday (30/4), there are various types of salt, which can be a source of sodium. First, table salt. This type of salt is strengthened by the presence of iodine minerals, which are important minerals to prevent iodine-related illnesses, such as Hypothyroidism.

Second, Kosher salt. The fundamental difference between a Kosher salt and a regular salt is the structure of the crystal. Because it has a larger crystal structure and shape than regular salt, this type of salt is often used by cooks. They just take the salt with a finger and sprinkle it on food or a dish.

Third, rock salt. This type of salt is considered quite well consumed for people who are undergoing low-sodium diet. Fourth, bamboo salt. This type of salt is quite popular in Korea. This salt is obtained from the roasting of sea salt inside a bamboo cylinder, and plugged in the mud. Later, salt will absorb minerals from bamboo and mud.

Fifth, sea salt obtained from sea water treatment. Various minerals contained in seawater, one of them iodine, can easily be absorbed by the body. One of the sea salt that has the highest nutrient content is sea salt from the Celtic Sea. Even with Pink Himalayan salt. The salt developed in the Himalayas has a pink color, derived from minerals, especially iron.
