Eating Equipment at Restaurant Can Be Source of Disease

If you like to eat out, you should choose a place to eat or eat a clean and hygienic. Net is not limited to the location and presentation of the food, but also cutlery used. It is not possible, a less hygienic cutlery is also a source of the spread of disease.
Recent studies in the United States indicates, plates and cutlery in a restaurant that was not washed properly can become a medium growth of bacteria and viruses that cause disease. Research experts from Ohio State University suggests, tableware washing method used by most restaurants in the U.S. can not significantly reduce contamination of norovirus, one cause of poisoning due to food (foodborne Illnesses).

Research published in the journal PLoS One is researching methods of cleaning the ceramic plates, drinking glasses and stainless steel cutlery in a restaurant. The researchers found, the former cream cheese and milk on the surface of tableware is a material that is difficult to remove.
Cream cheese and milk can be easily contaminated with norovirus, and the bacterium Escherichia coli K-12 and Listeria innocua, the two strains of bacteria that cause gastrointestinal illness caused by food.
According to the researchers, pathogen contamination in fast food from tableware is an important factor in foodborne Illnesses. To prevent this, of course, restaurants and food companies need to make a method that can reduce the microbial leaching significantly.
Researchers suggest, a restaurant at least have to wash by hand and dishwasher use tap water, sodium hypochlorite, and surfactants. In addition a number of cleaning agents used should also be comparable to eating utensils are washed.
With the effort that was, according to the researchers, the restaurant can only eliminate the bacteria E. coli and Listeria alone, while norovirus numbers are still pretty much on eating utensils are washed. When compared to washing by hand, wash with the machine turned out to be better able to eliminate microbes, however, norovirus is still not able to completely disappear. Norovirus can indeed last longer than material perbersih than E. coli and Listeria.
Norovirus gastroenteritis is the leading cause of the most common diseases and a major cause of food poisoning in the United States. Norovirus gastroenteritis causes half of cases worldwide.
