Most people spend their time watching television at home when there is no rush. People think, spend time watching television makes life better quality.
Lots of information and knowledge can be gained from watching television. But in reality, watching the screen for too long it can adversely affect your physical and mental health.
Here are some illnesses that might befall you if you spend too long time in front of the television:
1. The risk of heart disease
Based  on analysis of data collected over six years, involving 8800 men and  women in Australia (age 25 with no history of heart disease),  researchers found that every one-hour TV viewing may increase the risk  of death from heart attack by 18% and the risk of death from cancer by 9%. This  means that people who watch TV more than four hours has a 80% increased  risk of death from cardiovascular disease over a period of 6 years than  those who watched less than 2 hours per day.
2. Sleep disorders
Watch  too much TV can reduce the levels of the hormone melatonin in the brain  that can affect the body's natural rhythms to keep you awake longer,  irregular sleep and fatigue. Reduced levels of melatonin are also often associated with early puberty in girls.
3. Diabetes
A  study on women published in the Journal of the American Medical  Association in 2003 showed that the risk of diabetes increased by 14% in  those who watch TV for 2 in a day. Other studies  have also found that men who watched TV more than 40 hours a week, three  times more at risk of developing type 2 diabetes than men who watched  TV less than 1 hour per week.
4. Obesity
Watching television is too often makes your muscles do not move. If your muscles are not active in a very long period of time, can interfere with metabolism and causes weight gain.
5. Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)
ADD  is a disorder of concentration / concentration and impulsivity that do  not fit the child's age, even some children may exhibit hyperactivity. Research  at the University of Washington Child Health Institute found that in  children aged 3 (three) years who watched TV two hours per day, 20% risk  of having attention disorder problems at age 7 than children not watch  television.
6. Increased risk of asthma

7. Mindless eating
Many people do not realize that when you have a chance to watch television eat more than when doing other activities.
8. Giving a negative effect on mental
Watching TV for long periods have a negative effect on the intellectual development of children. American  Academy of Pediatrics prohibits children under 2 years old to watch TV  and recommended in children aged over 2 years to not watch TV more than  two hours a day.
9. Sore eyes
Watching too much television is bad for your eyes, especially when watching television in a dark room. Focusing your eyes too long on one object can make your eyes strain.
10. Aggressive Behavior
Young children are more likely to show aggressive behavior after watching violent TV shows or movies. A  study involving more than 3,000 children aged 3 years found that  children who watch too much TV, directly or not, it would be risky to  exhibit aggressive behavior.
11. Lack of socialization
Watch too much television may reduce your social interactions with friends and family. This can cause a variety of social phobia.
