Strawberry Fruit Fresh And Healthy



Ever heard the expression eating "an apple a day keep the doctor away"? Well, the fruit of strawberries not only alienate the general practitioner, but also a specialist of the brain, hormones and cancer.


According to the Salk Institute's Cellular Neurobiology Lab (CFL), the content of which is a flavonoid fisetin naturally in abundance in strawberries can ease the complications of diabetes.


Flavonoids are compounds similar to the antioxidants, which help the body build up the immune system.


CFLs perform experiments on a number of mice. The result, fisetin can maintain a network of brain cells and strengthening the memory of healthy mice.

According to a study published in Public Library of Science, the fisetin can strengthen a number of organs such as the one drug that can treat several kinds of diseases.


Pam Maher senior scientist in the CFL, previously identified as a neuroprotective flavonoids fisetin ten years ago.

"In plants, flavonoids act as a sunscreen and protects the leaves and fruit from insects," explained the woman scientist .*
