Do not Sit Too Long, It's The danger

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), between 60 to 85 percent of developed and developing countries have increasingly diminished physical activity, and likely to lead to a relaxed lifestyle, and more sedentary. WHO also stated that approximately two million deaths each year may be associated with physical inactivity, and a relaxed lifestyle may be included among the 10 leading causes of death and disability in the world.

Now researchers from Australia and the United states, they found that the longer people sit each day, the higher the risk of experiencing chronic and potentially fatal diseases, such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure as reported voaindonesia site.

Richard Rosenkranz, assistant professor of nutrition at Kansas State University, is a member of the research team that studied the risk of sitting too long. He said, "In some cases, not all, but some of it, we see a kind of a sharp rise in which prolonged sitting increases the chances of people suffering from the disease. One of them is diabetes. We also saw the increasing risk of high blood pressure and other chronic diseases. "



  Although exercise and increased physical activity remains important to keep it healthy, Rosenkranz said, the research also revealed that people who exercise 30 minutes every day before work is still at risk of the disease if they spend eight hours at work to sit.

"So we want to argue that in addition to continuously deliver the message about the importance of moderate to high physical activity such as walking or cycling or working out in the gym, we also need to think about ways to avoid sitting all day," he said.
