Sleep 6-8 hours Lower Risk of Heart Disease and Stroke

Sleep for six to eight hours at night can reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke .
Based on recent studies , researchers found people who sleep less than six hours a night have a possibility of having a heart attack or stroke doubled , compared to those who slept six to eight hours , as reported by Dailymail .
They also have a risk of 2/3 times more likely to have congestive heart failure that makes the heart's ability to pump blood throughout the body weakened , potentially damaging other organs .
Sleep more than eight hours a night is associated with a doubled risk of angina and 19 percent higher possibility of developing coronary artery disease .
Lead author Dr Saurabh Aggarwal , from Chicago Medical School , said people with sleep duration is too long at high risk of cardiovascular disease and the risk decreases with normal sleep duration . " Six to eight hours of sleep is the best time , " he said .

Based on data from the British Heart Foundation , more than 159 thousand people in the UK , died of cardiovascular disease in 2011 .
One in six men and one in nine women died from coronary heart disease , of a total of nearly 74 thousand deaths . While stroke causing 42 thousand people died .
Recent studies conducted involving 6,538 people from the community based on U.S. national health data have cardiovascular disease .
Questionnaires were given to the participants that the average age at the beginning of 60 years , showed they used to sleep with an average of less than seven hours a night .
Analysis of the duration of the show was clearly a tendency that cardiovascular disease is more common in people with a sleep time of less than six hours or more than eight hours .
The results are adjusted to take into account other factors that affect cardiovascular risk , including age , body mass index , cholesterol , smoking , blood pressure , sleep disorders and a family history of heart disease .
Dr. Aggarwal and colleagues write that the disruption of sleep patterns can have far-reaching effects on the metabolism of the body , the immune system and hormones .
Sleep duration were minimal effect on increasing the stress hormone cortisol , increased blood pressure , hyperactivity of the sympathetic nervous system and increased inflammation .
While the reason why sleeping longer than average increases the risk of cardiovascular disease , is not clear .
This can happen due to the risk factors themselves are changed or it could be that people who sleep longer likely to be depressed , poor and physically inactive .
The authors say that the results of their research to investigate the relationship between sleep disorders known to be associated with heart disease , making these studies indicate a strong indicator of the importance of sleep duration with other studies
" Although the results of this study suggest a relationship between sleep duration with your heart health , we can not say that the duration of your sleep will lead to heart disease and stroke , " said Amy Thompson , senior cardiac nurse at the British Heart Foundation .
According to him , start an active lifestyle , with a healthy diet and plenty of exercise will improve mental and physical health and helps to sleep easy . " If you are having problems sleeping disorder , talk to your doctor , " he said
