Simple habit of washing hands was not only affects physical health . Psychological conditions can also be affected by the habit is often underestimated .
Researchers
from the University of Cologne Germany proved , wash the body after
experiencing failure can provide a positive influence on the
psychological condition . According
to research , a person who wash their hands after failing to be more
positive and successful execution of the next task .
Washing hands is believed to be "clean " disappointment incurred and replace it with a sense of optimism . The research results were published in the journal Social Psychological and Personality Science .
To
believe in the potential for psychological and performance effects of
hand washing , a team of researchers led by Dr. Kai Kaspar research
involving 98 respondents were divided into three groups . In the first experiment , the participants of the two groups should mengerjakankan task is not impossible to solve. In this section , the three groups did not participate .
Of this section Kaspar found , both groups felt optimistic can finish with either another task in the future . But according to Kaspar , a group that hand washing has a sense of optimism is higher than that is not hand- grandchildren .
Furthermore , Kaspar asked all groups to participate in the second task . The result was in accordance hypothesis Kaspar . In this research , participants who do not wash their hands do the decent performance better than hand washing . But in fact , the performance of participants that hand washing is equivalent to the third group , or they did not fail before.
Although hand hygiene reduces the negative after failure , according to Kaspar , it also reduces the motivation to try harder . Though try harder need to refresh and update themselves on the point of view of a competency .
Kaspar research results actually not the first . Previously there was a similar study in the field of self-cleansing in 2006 . This research explores the relationship between the body and moral hygiene . In
three experiments , Canadian and American researchers , Chen - Bo Zhong
and Katie Liljenquist , suggests that moral hygiene and body are
interconnected .
"
Hygiene routines such as washing hands , though seemingly simple ,
sends power to treat people better , " says the researcher . Even so , this result does not seem to apply universally .
Research
conducted Universidad de La Laguna Spain , intends to copy the results
of a study conducted by researchers from Canada and the USA . But research, researchers from Spain tersaebut not give the same results . Given the fact that for many years no one managed to copy the research conducted by researchers from Canada and the USA .
