You probably wont use a cotton bud to clean the ear wax. However you should only use a cotton bud to clean the outer ear folds.
"You
need to be careful not to do what I call 'search and destroy', because
you could have accidentally pushed even further into the dirt, or you
could damage the eardrum," says J. Schnitman Randolph, MD, otolaryngologist (ENT specialist) in Beverly Hills, California. "Dirt was produced by lining the ear canal, and if the normal amount anyway, no problem."
Another
way to clean the ears is to let water enter the ear while bathing, then
tilt the head to remove the water, says Brett Levine, MD, ENT
specialist in Torrance, California. But be sure the water is warm, because the water is cold or too hot can cause you to experience vertigo.
If you are classified as dry earwax, even harsh, you should use earwax remover. When used the right way, this tool will help soften the dirt, making them easier to clean. You can also try tilting your head to one side of the bath, and put a few drops of mineral or baby oil into the ear. Wait 1 or 2 seconds to dissolve the dirt, then tilt the head to the opposite side, so the dirt out of the ear.
If all this fails to make dirt out, you can visit the ENT specialist to help clean the earwax. Do not be surprised if, in your ear turns out there are also many other impurities, such as flakes haircut.
"Sometimes
it's hard earwax once, and baby oil droplets could not make it soft.
ENT doctor could see if he could suck up, scrape, or reach for something
that can not cleanse themselves naturally," added Dr. Levine.
In
various salon, you will probably find ear candles or ear care cone,
where the tip of a hollow candle ignited the fire, while the other end
is inserted into the ear to remove droppings. However, the doctors stated that this is actually not an effective way.
"When viewed from the West evaluations, candle therapy has proved totally ineffective; no avail nothing," said Dr. Schnitman.
In addition to no benefit, it also can be dangerous. According
to the American Academy of Audiology, a survey conducted in England
says that the ENT specialists deal reportedly injured ear candle
therapy, such as burning, close the ear canal, perforated eardrum and
ear canal infection that causes temporary hearing loss.
