Lower Blood Sugar to Sleep

Besides eating and drinking, sleep is a basic human need for healthy living. Enough sleep not only reduces the stress that is felt throughout the day, but also beneficial for lowering blood sugar.


Blood sugar lowering effect could only be obtained with adequate sleep. It happened because recent research suggests, lack of sleep will lead to insulin resistance. Another reason is that people who sleep less often or have sleep apnea stop breathing for a moment that is often associated with diabetes.

Scientific evidence also shows that sleep itself helps the body use glucose efficiently.

A study found that people who sleep around 5 hours each night had a sensitivity of 40 percent less insulin than people who sleep 8 hours. Most people sleep 60-90 minutes less than the actual sleep time is required.
