There are hundreds of species of microorganisms in our mouths every day. Actually it's not a problem, unless there is an imbalance of bacteria in the mouth. It is therefore important to always keep it clean.
Brushing teeth should ideally be done twice a day, morning and evening after eating before going to bed. Dental hygiene is maintained to reduce the growth of plaque, which then is a pile of bacteria.
"Our mouths may not be clean. Yet we can keep your teeth if it is able to suppress the growth of plaque," said the lecturer at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Indonesia, drg.Yudha Rismanto Sp.Perio.
We need at least 6-12 hours until the bacteria is able to colonize the matrix to form plaques. The conditions in accordance with the brushing time.
"Brushing your teeth will make your mouth atmosphere neutral, neither acidic nor alkaline. Atmosphere hinders the work of bacteria because bacteria are more active when the mouth is in acidic conditions," he said.
In addition to brushing, it helps us to clean the teeth in more detail by using dental floss or rinse with mouthwash so that the dirt in the unreached areas a toothbrush can be cleaned.
Note also hygiene toothbrush. Because our mouths are full of germs, the toothbrush was a gathering place for germs. Even so, the germs are not harmful because the body has its own mechanism to get rid of the germs.
Recommend that you keep a toothbrush in the sink or shelves that is not in the bathroom. This is to avoid increasing the germs that come from a flushing toilet (flush).
Wash your hands thoroughly before handling toothbrush. Always clean toothbrush with water flowing and keep the brush in dry conditions because bacteria love moist atmosphere.
