Do Peel Skin Fruit and Vegetables This

To maintain a healthy diet often we have to expend more effort, such as cooking itself rather than snacks outside, or to check labels on food packaging. But not everything is so.

In terms of getting the fiber and nutrients from food, it turns out we need not bother to peel. Colored skin of some fruits and vegetables actually the highest concentration of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

Here are 6 types of fruit and vegetables should not be consumed when peeled. Even so, wash grapes under running water before consumption to remove pesticides that may be attached.

1. Apples
Skin peeling an apple is not going to eliminate the amount of vitamin C, but we could lose because losing pectin, a soluble fiber may help reduce levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) and blood sugar. Pectin also digested more slowly so the stomach is more lasting satiety.

2. Carrots
Carrots are rich polyacetylenes, a substance that is currently being studied for its potential to kill cancer cells in laboratory trials. The substance also contains antifungal, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory.

Polyacetylenes only found under the skin of carrots, so we recommend the consumption of carrots unpeeled or peeled thin.

3. PotatoesUnpeeled potatoes have more fiber, iron, and folate, compared peeled potatoes. Purple potato types have even more antioxidants in the skin.

4. Cucumber
Compared with the peeled cucumber, unpeeled have more calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, vitamin A, and vitamin K. In addition, most of the fiber content in the cucumber originated from the skin. Content in it is mostly composed of water.

5. Eggplant
Eggplant skin contains antioxidants called nasunin. In the study, the antioxidant is important for maintaining healthy brain tissue.

6. Wine
Red grape skins contain resveratrol, a phytochemical that is beneficial for the heart and brain. In animal studies, these substances also slow the growth of cancer cells.
