Aloe Vera Can Reduce Blood Sugar Levels

One study has been conducted to determine the antidiabetic effects of aloe vera. Plants originally from Africa and islands in the Indian Ocean, are known to reduce blood sugar levels, helping patients who suffer from type 2 diabetes.

Patients with diabetes can use aloe vera on a regular basis, as the plant contains a lot of water in order to maintain blood sugar levels.

During the year 6000, the aloe vera plant has been used in phytotherapy, dermatology (skin care) and cosmetics in the form of gel and cream.

The American researchers last week published a study of nine plants that have benefits for patients with type 2 diabetes in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, which is then reported by AFP.

According to the data, the aloe vera plant as a supplement to be consumed can reduce blood glucose levels (46.6 mg / dl), as well as reducing HbA1c (1.05%), or a hemoglobin glycation, as average blood glucose levels over three months.

Regularly consuming aloe vera can stimulate the secretion of insulin, which is very useful for people suffering from diabetes. Patients with blood glucose levels of 200 mg / dl greatly benefited from the use of aloe vera, the researchers said.

Diabetes is diagnosed when the fasting blood sugar level of patients greater than or equal to 130 mg / dl, or when it rose to 200 mg / dl or more after one to two hours of eating.

Previous clinical studies have identified an effective therapeutic properties of aloe vera in the treatment of skin conditions (eczema, psoriasis, burns), gastro-intestinal conditions and the aging of cells. It is thanks to the antioxidants present in aloe vera.

For aloe vera juice, the maximum recommended daily dose of 50ml, whereas the recommended dose for the capsule is 200 to 300mg per day.
