Take advantage of Celery to Lower Blood Pressure

Celery long been known as a plant that has the benefit of lowering blood pressure. Scientific research also supports such knowledge.

Celery is known to contain phytochemicals called phthalides. Extract is called NBP proved in the tissue relaxes arterial walls so that blood flows more smoothly and blood pressure drops.

Consumption of celery intact, either blended or mixed with food, preferably as part of the trunk has a low salt content. We will also have fiber, magnesium, and potassium, a mineral that is essential for lowering blood pressure.

To get the benefits of celery for the reduction of blood pressure, you should limit your intake of salt, sugary foods, and red meat. In addition to a healthy diet, it is advisable to eat four stalks of celery a day.

However, experts warn that there is no one type of vegetable or plant can be used as therapy of a disease.

"It's not a secret that some vegetables contain vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants. However, we should eat a variety of vegetables or herbs to supplement the benefits," said Kenneth Shafer, heart disease physician at the Cleveland Clinic.

To lower blood pressure, Shafer suggested that we eat a variety of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, nuts, and vegetable oil, to obtain potassium, calcium, magnesium, fiber.
