Avoid Soap Containing 'Sulfactan'

Bath soap abrasive effect on the skin, it can also endanger the health of the skin, the General Secretary of the Association of Physician Specialists Dermatology Indonesia, Srie Prihianti, PhD, GDSS.

"This is an effect caused by the chemical content sulfactan or SLS, the soap or facial cleansing," he said at the launch Srie MooGoo in Jakarta, Tuesday (5/2).

Srie explained that sulfactan are chemical constituents that have a high level of irritation. "If the skin feels rough, it does not mean clean. However this means some of the fat in the skin surface has been lifted," said Srie.

The fat in the skin serves as a protective surface that helps prevent the appearance of skin disorders such as irritation, inflammation, and allergy. "Therefore, avoid soaps for the skin that contain sulfactan, to maintain skin health," advises Srie.
