Pollution of Coal Combustion Products Most Dangerous

Breathe air polluted necessarily bad for the body. But not all pollutants have the same dangers. According to the study, the results of burnt coal used most dangerous power plants.

The new findings are presented in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives after evaluating nearly 450,000 participants in 100 cities in the US. The aim of the study is to see the effect of each particle pollutants on heart health.

Particles of fossil fuels, especially coal, is known the greatest impact, even near death, compared to other pollutants.

The researchers called, particles of coal pollutants contribute five times larger than the other pollutants associated risk of death from heart disease.

Coal is known to play an important role in economic growth in industrialized countries. About 18 percent of US energy needs come from coal-fired power plants. Meanwhile in developing countries, almost all rely on coal for energy sources.

Awareness of the energy contribution to climate change and its impact on human health make policy makers set new rules.

United States and China, for example, has announced plans to reduce coal production. Air pollution, mostly from coal-fired power plants, in China has led to 1.6 million deaths annually.
