Eating Right for Seniors

Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) invites senior citizens in Gianyar regency, Bali, to pay attention to health by maintaining good eating patterns. "Complaints are experienced by the elderly in almost all vital organs due to several factors, such as unhealthy diet and infrequent exercise," said IMA Chairman Dr. I Wayan Eka Gianyar senior official, on the sidelines of the medical examination in Bali Safari and Marine Park at Jalan By Pass Ida Bagus Mantra.

Due to lack of exercise and unhealthy eating patterns that cause disease grievances felt by the elderly, ranging from the head to the bottom of the body organs. Presented complaining of pain is headache, cough, colds, rheumatism, reduced visual acuity, increased uric acid and kolestorel. "The age factor also causes the body's vital organs function decline, therefore it must be balanced with a healthy lifestyle and a lot of activity," he said.


Doctor senior official explained, a healthy diet needs to be balanced with the use of time on a regular basis. The recommended diet is contains a lot of fiber or vegetables. Besides fruits are also very necessary to help maintain body condition. "The elderly are highly recommended to exercise or perform activities that are not getting brittle bones that cause many diseases," he said.
