You Can Even Death by Broken Heart

The phrase seems to die of a broken heart not just nonsense . The results showed , maybe someone dies of a broken heart left to go mate .

In a study from Harvard researchers found , while a widowed husband by the wife or vice versa , then the risk of death of the spouse left behind is likely to intensify . Highest risk was recorded in the first 3 months after abandonment , which can reach 66 percent .

The study involved more than 26 thousand Americans over the age of 50 years . Research focus is the 12 316 participants who were married in 1998 , and the journey they followed until 2008. During this study the respondents be seen whether the widow or widower . Researchers also noted that when her partner died .

As a result, during this period many as 2,912 respondents died . Of these 2,373 respondents to leave their partner , while the other 539 's status as a widow or widower . Widow or widower dies risk greater than when their partner is still there .

A total of 50 people from the 539 respondents died 3 months after her partner left . As many as 26 others followed by a period of less than 6 months . While 44 others died with a range of 6-12   months .

In contrast to previous research that states men greater opportunities , this study proves that women also have the same risk . This is probably due to the influence of one of the parties in determining the income and standard of living in the past .

Investigators say they still have not gotten an explanation as to why it happens . " It could be argued that it is reasonable . However, these results indicate that treatment of ailing spouse may cause a decrease in the healthy condition . When pain gets worse , then forget the sound altogether health , " said lead researcher Dr. SV Subramanian .

This research was only conducted on respondents aged over 50 years so it is unknown whether the younger couples experiencing the same thing . However , according to Subramanian , the effect on the young couple might have been stronger .

Some experts claim , this can be caused by lifestyle changes . Each couple used to do things together , but together it is no longer true when one of them dies .

" As a result, couples are left no longer eat , sleep , and take medication properly , " said gerontologis of The College of New Rochelle , New York , Dr. Ken Doka .

In addition, the cemetery also could be something heavy and stressful for the elderly , so it is not surprising that those who left feeling stressed .

Specifically at widows , Doka added , they usually will feel lonely and do not know to be proactive to find another partner . This is because , widows often do not get the support and they also are mothers always keep and nurture their children .
