Avoid Exercising at Night Over 9 Hours

Exercise is one of the keys to healthy living. However, because of busy, many people who choose to exercise at night. In fact, exercise at night is not recommended because of the risk of injury is too higher.

Orthopedic specialist doctors from Premier Hospital Plastica Sapto Hardjosworo Adji said, the evening is the time the body to rest so that the rhythm of the body was already prepared for it. Sports at night making the risk of injury is higher.

"Sports should not be more than 9 hours a night," he said on Saturday (08/16/2014) in South Tangerang.

Humans naturally have biological rhythms are called circadian rhythms. This rhythm is influenced by the hormone melatonin, which is also known as the sleep hormone. When it was dark, then this will increase the production of hormones that make you sleepy.

When exercising in the evening time, meaning a coercive body that is ready to rest to re-perform strenuous activities. In other words, exercise is done in the most inopportune times.

In addition to easier injuries, the impact of exercise performed over 9 pm among others disturb sleep quality. This is because the heart rate accelerated faster during exercise so that the body takes time to lower it again.

"After a night exercise, usually become restless sleep, nightmares, sleep but such is not sleeping, and waking up is not fresh," Aji said. When only had time to do exercise in the evening, he suggested to do a maximum of two hours before bedtime.
