Breakfast Not Too Aid Slimming

Most diet experts emphasized the importance of breakfast every day. According to them, the breakfast will provide sufficient energy intake to undergo a day of activity, while maintaining a healthy weight. In addition, the stomach is filled in the morning can reduce appetite during the day.

But a new study from the University of Alabama at Birmingham disprove the theory. The study found that breakfast had no effect on the increase or decrease in weight. So skipped breakfast did not give any impact on respondents who were included in this study.

The new study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition is followed 309 adults for 16 weeks. Respondents were categorized as those involved overweight and obesity but has not shown any signs of illness.

In that period, the majority of respondents were asked to skip breakfast and some asked for breakfast regularly. Meanwhile, the other group was used as control was given an explanation of nutrition, but not set breakfast time.

Overall, the researchers found, there was no significant weight loss among people who skip breakfast to people who do not. They hope the findings could straighten out the myths about weight loss techniques.
"Things related to weight loss is generally believed is not necessarily true. Nowadays we find credible one thing that was not true when tested," said David Allison, director of the health center nutrition obesity at the same university.

Allison and his team hope to do further research to find out the reason why eating or skipping breakfast does not affect weight loss. So that they can evaluate what is important to a healthy diet.
