Prevent Cancer, Reduce Time Sitting

Too much sitting is deadly. If you spend most of your time in the day to sit down, one of the diseases that lurk is cancer.

In a study of several studies are known, people who spend a lot of time to sit or passively watching TV were more likely to be diagnosed with cancer of the colon or endometrial.

"Cancer is a complex disease and there are many causes, including genetic factors, environment, and lifestyle. Too much sitting could be a factor," said Daniela Schmid, of the University of Regensburg, Germany.

He explains, sedentary lifestyle or less move has long been associated with chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease, and cancer.

In his study, Schmid analyzed 43 studies involving approximately 69,000 cancer patients. For every two hours of sitting, the risk of colon cancer rose 8 percent and about 10 percent of endometrial cancer.

The risk is greatest in turns sitting watching TV instead of sitting down to work. "It's because we usually watch TV when mengasup unhealthy foods or smoking," he said.

Too much sitting lead to cancer, among others because of obesity. But there may be another more specific explanation of the unknown.

"Humans evolved over thousands of years with a high amount of physical activity in daily life. 150 years In recent years a lot of physical activity are eliminated.'s Probably no effect on how the body process carbohydrates and also other effects of not moving all day," said Graham A.COlditz, researchers.

Indeed, the researchers did not make a guide on how much sitting is considered excessive, but keep alive remains active and break the sitting time is a good first step.
