Negative Mind Body Make So Sick

The mind and the body are connected to each other. Try just watch, if you're stressed, usually like stomach upset occurs. Therefore, do not underestimate the power of the mind, especially negative thoughts. Given the negative thoughts can lead to serious health problems.

Many negative emotions such as anger, fear, and frustration, says Emiliana Simon-Thomas, Ph.D., science director of the Greater Good Science Center, UC Berkeley, became a problem when the emotions settle down. Example cynicism.

2014 study published in the journal Neurology, linking high levels of cynicism with dementia in later life. Another study in 2009, published in the journal Circulation encounter, that of the 100 thousand women studied, those most cynical more likely to have heart disease. And the more pessimistic woman, the higher they are likely to die during the study period than those who are more optimistic.

Other bad behaviors that have been linked to poor health is hatred. 2014 study published in the journal Stroke showed those who had higher scores on the size of the inhospitable, at higher risk for stroke than participants were more friendly and kind.

Meanwhile, depression has also been associated with an increased risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus, heart attack, a greater likelihood of disability in later life.

According to Simon-Thomas, emotion has been spreading effect on the body processes such as metabolism, release of hormones, and immune function. One theory is that when you are stressed or depressed, cortisol levels rise, making the immune system less able to control inflammation in the body and can lead to disease later in life.

Another tendency, those who feel uncomfortable emotions, such as stress or cynical, more likely to smoke, consume alcohol, or are not physically active. All of which can affect health. The next possibility, negative emotions experienced by a person, can be an early symptom of health problems.

Fortunately, there are things that can be done to get rid of the negative things that happened, namely by changing your perspective. The way it will help improve your health.

As a reminder, brain cells produce new cells throughout life. "And this neurogenesis, not only connected with the formation of new memories, but also the stability of mood. Therefore, you need to control the behavior and health," said Simon-Thomas.
