Oranges and Lemon Prevent Disease Due to Obesity

Oranges and lemons are not only rich in vitamin C, but it also has another great benefit. Two sweet and sour fruit was called to overcome a number of diseases caused by obesity.

It was tested in a study conducted by scientists at the Universidade Estadual Paulista in Brazil. Antioxidants orange flavanone apparently can neutralize the harmful effects of obesity caused by a diet high in fat and sugar.

One researcher, Paula Ferreira, calling obesity as a worrisome problem. Moreover, one in four adults and one in five children in the UK aged 11 years experience.

Other studies have shown the benefits of consumption of oranges and lemons is expected to help address these health problems. Obesity has been known to increase the risk of heart disease, liver disease, diabetes, and other diseases.

"Oranges also have beneficial effects for people who are not overweight but have a diet rich in fat," says Ferreira.

Previous research has found flavanone lower levels of oxidative stress in animals. The study involved 50 mice whose blood tested after diet comparison flavanone in oranges, limes and lemons as well as a number of applied diet with other patterns.

Study author, Thais Cesar, said there was no reduction in body weight of rats because citrus flavanone. However, it makes the diet more healthy mice with lower oxidative stress, better heart condition, as well as lipid-lowering and blood glucose.
