Increasing metabolism is important when losing weight. However, how fast your body burns calories depends on several things.

Some people have a fast metabolism. Men tend to burn more calories than women, even when you're resting. For most people, metabolism slows down continuously after reaching the age of 40 years.

While you can not control for age, sex, or genetic, there are other ways to improve metabolism. Here are ten ways that you can apply in order to obtain better performance of metabolism.

1. Build muscle
Your body is constantly burning fat, even if you do not do anything. Resting metabolic rate is higher in people who have more muscle.

Every 0.5 pounds of muscle takes 6 calories to sustain themselves, while every 0.5 pounds of fat burns only 2 calories per day. The small difference may increase over time. After one session of strength training, the muscles throughout the body becomes active, thus raising the average level of daily metabolism.

2. Sports
Aerobics may not form the large muscles, but it can speed up your metabolism in the hours after exercise. The trick of pushing yourself.

Eat more often turn out to help lose weight. When you eat a large portion of the intake at intervals of a few hours, your metabolism will slow down in between the meal hours. Have a little intake or snack every 3 or 4 hours to keep your metabolism, so you burn more calories in a day.

Good sources of protein include lean meat, turkey, fish, chicken, tofu, nuts, eggs, and dairy products without fat.

If you are a coffee drinker, you may be able to enjoy the benefits of energy and increase concentration.
