Garlic potential for Brain Health

Garlic may always have in your kitchen. Almost no dish that was never out of garlic.
Garlic is apparently not only makes the taste of the food to be delicious. Moreover, the consumption of garlic was found to slow aging and protect the brain from diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. It is based on the results of a study by researchers at the University of Missouri.
"Garlic is one of the most extra food consumed. Many are considered garlic as a 'superfood' because it contains sulfur which is very well known as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory," said Gu Zezong study author and professor of pathology and anatomy in MU School of Medicine.
He explained, this study focused on carbohydrate derivative of garlic, known as FruArg. This FruArg who act to protect brain cells.

According to the research team, beneficial content of garlic can inhibit, even restore brain cell damage caused by environmental problems, such as cigarette smoke, air pollution. Brain damage can also be caused by brain injury, aging, to excessive alcohol consumption.

"It helps us understand how garlic is beneficial to the brain by making it more resistant to stress and inflammation associated with neurological diseases and aging," said Gu.
For further research, Gu and his colleagues wanted to study the effect of FruArg on other cells in the body are associated with heart disease, diabetes and cancer.
