There is a reason why the foods below called the food was comforting. In addition some of which can warm the stomach, food is also tickle the taste buds, reducing levels of stress hormones and not fattening if eaten in moderate amounts. In fact, these foods can help you lose weight.

HOT CHOCOLATE

Chocolate is rich in antioxidants, which are beneficial to reduce the level of stress hormones or cortisol. Stress hormones cause your body to accumulate fat in the abdomen, said Tara Gidus, RD, a nutritionist in Winter Park, Florida.

One study at Cornell University found that the concentration of antioxidants in hot chocolate five times greater than those found in black tea.

Chocolate also contains carbohydrates and protein to help your muscles recover faster from hard physical activity, according to a study in the International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism.

CHICKEN SOUP

"People who eat chicken soup with vegetables, consume fewer calories throughout the day," said nutritionist Rania Batayneh.

Chicken soup is rich in protein, fiber and vitamins in addition to warm and filling.

GRILLED VEGETABLES

We know that vegetables contain many essential nutrients for our body. However, the absence of healthy vegetables, depending on how we process them.

Vegetables can become a comfort food when mixed with roasted. Green vegetables and roasted carrots can be a delicious side dish eaten with a little brown rice and sambal.

POTATO

Although potatoes are often considered empty carbohydrate foods, actually it depends on how you cook it.

Potatoes are a source of complex carbohydrates, which means it can keep you full longer than sugary foods.

Dr Jacquie Lavin, a doctor of nutrition at Slimming World, said, "You should eat complex carbohydrates such as potatoes, rather than simple carbohydrates such as sugar or a biscuit."

Sugar or biscuits indeed make your satiety, but quickly hungry again. While the potatoes keep you full longer, helping you reduce calories.

The baked potato provides about 12 percent of the daily fiber recommendation. Potatoes also contain a lot of vitamin A and vitamin C, the antioxidant beta-carotene.

PUMPKIN PIE

Pumpkin pie is comfort food the stomach is empty and only has about 50 calories and three grams of fiber.

Pumpkin is also useful to counter the negative effects of oxidative stress and inflammation, because it contains beta-carotene and antioxidants.
