Chewing Gum 10 minutes, Remove 100 Million Bacteria

Mouth save a lot of bacteria. Between teeth are not cleaned and unattainable toothbrush into the bacterial nest. Typically, between teeth are cleaned by flossing or using a thread. This is considered the most effective way of eliminating the leftovers in the teeth.
Is there another way? Perhaps chewing gum can be a solution. Based on research from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, chewing gum powerful enough to kill bacteria.
The study shows that chewing gum for 10 minutes was able to eliminate 100 million bacteria in the mouth.

Not only that, the study published in the journal PLoS One was also revealed, chewing gum in 10 minutes can reduce 10 percent of microbes from saliva.
"Seen from the microscope, the bacteria were stuck in chewing gum," the researchers wrote in the paper.

In fact, according to the researchers, eating chewing gum can be as effective as flossing. Eliminate bacteria in the mouth of the most effective is the first 30 seconds while chewing. However, if the chewing gum more than 10 minutes, it can increase the number of bacteria in the mouth.
In addition, chewing gum can also kill harmful bacteria in the mouth. However, chewing gum can remove the bacteria is that it does not contain sugar. Chewing gum containing sugar can actually add bacteria.
From these results, they hope to develop a special gum to kill bacteria in the mouth.
