Health Hazards for Body Butter

So far, not a few people consider the use of butter is better than cooking oil. Though butter is even more dangerous for health. Why?

It says Nutritionist dr. Laila Hayati, M. Nutrition, SpGK, butter contains more unsaturated fats aka trans fats. Therefore, the threat of disease risk more easily threaten someone.

"Looking at the composition into it, more butter contains trans fat. So even more unhealthy than ordinary cooking oil," he told Okezone, via telephone connection, Friday (01/02/2015).

Furthermore, said Dr. Laila, someone who often use butter in cooking course there is the threat of cholesterol. Even if continued could lead to the risk of coronary heart disease.

"Of course everyone who ate trans fats will lead to high cholesterol. These threats do not care for anyone, young or old age," he added.


Just a note, trans fats are oils are processed through the process of adding hydrogen into the butter called partial hydrogenation. This treatment is done to improve the oxidative stability so as not susceptible to oxidation. It is estimated that the butter has trans fat content of 2.5 percent.
