5 Food Harm Brain

Let's forget for a moment the effect of food on waist size and we talk about the effect of food on the brain's ability.
There are five types of food which if consumed in excessive amounts, it could jeopardize our cognitive abilities and memory. This is the fifth such foods:

Tofu
Soy Controversy continues with a study published in the journal Dementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disorders. That study, high intake tofu, that nine more servings per week, can increase the risk of cognitive decline and memory loss.
This study analyzes the consumption out of the 719 men and women of Indonesia, and asked them through a series of memory tests. Those who ate more than 9 servings a week face memory decline is greater than those who do not eat tofu.

These findings suggest an association and not causation. However, the researchers suspect that the phytoestrogens in the tofu might be responsible for the decline of brain function.
The opposite of the idea, the researchers found that tempe can increase a person's ability to remember.

Sodium
A Canadian study found that high consumption of sodium, along with low levels of physical activity, resulting in a negative impact on cognitive ability.
For this study, Canadian researchers examined physical activity and sodium intake of 1,262 volunteers aged 67-84 years. The participants were placed into three groups: low, medium, and high sodium intake.
The result shown that people with a low sodium intake and low physical activity, decreased cognitive abilities are slower than those with a high intake of sodium with low physical activity.
The conclusion of the research that has been published in the journal Neurobiology of Aging, found that regular exercise can counteract the negative effects of sodium on the brain and cardiovascular system.

Trans fat
A study published in the journal PLoS One found that consuming trans fat is too much can cause a person to have trouble remembering words.
The study followed 1,018 volunteers who ate trans fats ranging from 3.8 grams - 27.7 grams per day. For every gram of trans fat consumed each day, participants experienced a decline of 0.76 words memory.
That means, a volunteer with the highest amount of trans fat consumption, can only remember 65 words correctly, while the average of other participants can remember 86 words.

Tuna
According to a study published in the journal Integrative Medicine, people who eat more than three servings per week of fish that exist at the level of the food chain are high, such as tuna, tuna, snapper, and grouper, high on the food chain like tuna, grouper, at risk high cognitive dysfunction.
The cause? High levels of mercury, of course.
Researchers analyzed the eating habits of sea food (sea food) 384 people, then ask them through a series of cognitive tests.
It appears that those with the highest mercury levels in the blood, get test results are the lowest compared to other participants.

Saturated fat
Researchers at the University of Montreal found that a diet high in saturated fat (50% of all calories come from healthy fats, such as palm oil or butter) can cause malfunctioning of the mesolimbic dopamine in the brain. This is the part of the brain that regulate motivation and happiness.
Disturbances in this area can allegedly trigger mood disorders, drug addiction and overeating.
a diet high in monounsaturated fats, such as olive oil, it shows the reverse effect of monounsaturated fat.
