The content of cinnamon that gives the brown color and distinctive fragrance (cinnamaldehyde) may be able to prevent colon cancer. At least, according to a study published in the journal Cancer Prevention May 2015.

The researchers gave mice the 50, 100, and 200 mg Cinnamomum zeylanicum (substances derived from cinnamon) and gave them water maze test and object recognition. The mice were given doses of 100 and 200 mg can survive in the water maze and have a better introduction to the object being tested.
