6 Myths and Facts about Fats

Fat diet popular again. With coconut oil and meat consumption increased, people began eating again what was once considered evil. But, how sehatnyakah transfer of butter to beef? Apparently, almost everything we know about fat during this time, it is not true.


Myth: The consumption of fat can make fat.

Fact: The fat can make you more satisfied, so avoid the urge to eat constantly.

Myth: Butter is bad.

Fact: A little butter will not hurt you.

A recent study published by the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that intake of butter in moderate amounts can be part of a healthy diet. But that does not mean you should apply as much butter on toast while drinking coffee, and put it again in the salad. "Do not overdo it," Babb warned.


Myth: Cholesterol from egg can increase cholesterol in the blood.

Fact: Cholesterol you eat, little or nothing to do with the cholesterol in your blood.

Fact: We need different types of fat in our daily diet.

Olive oil is a type of monounsaturated fat with abundant health benefits. But we are also not recommended to eat only setu types of fat and only one type of vegetable.

"Eat a variety of foods that contain fat such as nuts, seeds, avocado, and salmon. It will meet the needs of essential fatty acids and phytosterols for the body to protect them from disease," said Babb.

Stay away from artificial trans fat, or product on the label is written partially hydrogenated oils (margarine, pastries, packaged, coffee creamer) because they may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease.
