Wrong of Cooking, Vegetable Oil Can Be Hazardous to Health

Corn oil, sunflower oil or olive oil is believed to have a fat content which is healthier than butter or other types of oil.

Unfortunately, when vegetable oil is used in a temperature of 180 Celsius or more, will very likely produce toxic aldehyde levels that endanger health.

Led by Martin Grootveld, a professor of chemistry bioanalitikal and chemical pathology at De Monfort University in the UK, the researchers conducted experiments on corn oil and sunflower oil to fry potatoes and fish.

Found, frying with corn oil, coconut oil, olive oil, sunflower oil could release 200 times the toxic chemicals known as aldehydes which have been linked to cancer, heart disease, and dementia.

This study is surprising, due to the fact that other types of butter and oil contain a lot of saturated fat lebh proved to be much safer for meggoreng, rather than vegetable oils containing polyunsaturated fats.

In fact, health officials also encourage people to avoid butter and replace it with vegetable oil to reduce their fat intake.

"For decades, authorities have warned us how bad effects of butter," said Grootveld told The Telegraph.

"But we have found that the butter is very good for frying in hot temperatures. There is nothing wrong with the statement that vegetable oil is declared healthy, but when you use it to fry in a long time, or bake in a pan or oven, they will produce a reaction chemicals that produce large amounts of toxic compounds. "

The vegetable oil will be fine as long as you do not cook it in a temperature that is too hot, such as frying, "Grootveld said in a press release.

"It's a simple chemical fact that something that is considered healthy for us could turn into something very unhealthy at a certain temperature.
