How to Reduce Uric Acid in the Body

Uric acid levels in the body increases due to excessive production or due to failure of the body to remove it efficiently. Keeping a diet under control, is one of the keys to keeping uric acid levels under control.

High levels of uric acid can cause gout attacks, kidney stones, or kidney failure. Here are some tips on the correct diet to reduce uric acid in the body, as reported from Timesofindia, Tuesday (06/23/2015).

Check your diet

Avoid eating foods high in purines that are found in red meat, meat extracts, shellfish, peanuts, asparagus, peas, mushrooms, and cauliflower. Use less salt when cooking and reduce the addition of salt during cooking.

Avoid sources of fructose and alcohol

Limit consumption of soda, which is a source of high-fructose, such as fruit juice and other sweet drinks. Alcohol causes the body to dehydration, so it is best to avoid it. Although wine does not affect uric acid levels, levels of yeast in it makes it a bit risky.

Reduce inflammation

According to the study, add pineapple, celery, cherries, blueberries, and strawberries to your diet contains anti-inflammatory properties which inhibit proteins that are responsible for inflammation.

Water

Drink enough water to keep them hydrated is very important. Air dilute uric acid levels in the blood and act as a catalyst to drive out waste products from the kidneys to the bladder.
